Community
The Collected
Giving Pledge.
Since our founding, we have committed to donating at least 1% of our pre-tax profits to worthy causes every year — with a focus on those that foster a strong, free press.
1%Of pre-tax profits,
every year
Community is one of our six founding values. This is how we live it.
When we founded Collected in 2023, we made Community one of our core values. We incorporate it into our collaboration with colleagues, our interactions with counterparts in the communications industry, and our daily life in and around our New York City headquarters. The most tangible way we live the value of Community is through our commitment to donate at least 1% of our pre-tax profits to worthy causes every year, with a focus on those that foster a strong, free press.A free press has never been more important than it is today. It has also rarely been more threatened, as technological changes have stressed traditional media business models to the breaking point. The resulting vacuum makes it harder to hold the powerful accountable, harder for citizens to find out what’s going on in their communities, and harder for young people to learn the value of robust journalism.
2025Most Recent
We continued our tradition in 2025, maintaining our focus on fostering a strong, free press. We are proud to maintain our support of ProPublica, an organization that produces sophisticated, in-depth and nonpartisan journalism to effect real-world change. We also turned our eyes toward the future, supporting three organizations that are investing in the next generation of journalism. Press Pass NYC provides faculty training and operational resources to help students start school papers in NYC public schools. The Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY helps the next generation of journalists serve the public interest by teaching storytelling, entrepreneurial and technological skills alongside reporting, writing and ethics. And we support the Daily Orange, the independent, non-profit student newspaper of Syracuse University, a training ground for many of the country’s best journalists. We are proud to continue our support of City Harvest and the Madison Square Park Conservancy. We were also fortunate to expand our support in 2025 to several additional organizations, each of which has a meaningful connection to a member of the Collected team. All of us at Collected Strategies hope that you, and all of the communities you call home, are off to a happy and successful start to 2026!

2024Annual Report
When we founded Collected in 2023, we made Community one of our core values. The most tangible way we live this value is through our commitment to donate at least 1% of our pre-tax profits to worthy causes, with a focus on those that foster a strong, free press.Three of the organizations we supported this year seek to remedy the state of local journalism. The American Journalism Project is investing in local journalism by building non-profit newsrooms that serve local communities and are led by the people in the communities they serve. ProPublica produces sophisticated, in-depth and nonpartisan journalism that spurs real-world change. And closer to home, Press Pass NYC supports the next generation of journalists by providing faculty training, student programs and operational resources to start student newspapers in New York City public schools. As part of our pledge, Collected also supported City Harvest and the Madison Square Park Conservancy — the organization responsible for the operation, and 100% of the operating funds, of the beautiful park around the corner from our offices. All of us at Collected Strategies wish you, and all the communities you call home, a happy and healthy New Year.
